About Us
Cable Corporation Engineering Division started life as the repair and maintenance workshop of the Uganda Sugar Factory. In 1962 it was spun off into a separate unit called UGMA Engineering Corporation Ltd.
From 1972 to 1980 it remained closed. Thereafter it was revived and rehabilitated with support from the Government of Uganda.
UGMA after its rehabilitation continued making agricultural hand tools such as pickaxes, spades and cane cutters, sugar mill crusher rollers, scrapers and trash plates and cast iron brake blocks for the railways. It also fabricated machinery for sugar plants.
UGMA was merged with Cable Corporation on 31st October 2011 and became the Engineering Division of Cable Corporation Ltd. This merger enabled Cable Corporation to provide both electrical cables and mechanical repair and machining services to its clients.
Today CCED has the capability to cast and machine single castings of up to 20 tons. It supplies the sugar and infrastructure industry, and provides specialized heavy engineering services to its customers in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and the DRC.

Our Castings and heavy machining services
As Uganda's largest jobbing foundry, Cable Engineering Division meets all clients' diverse needs. Largest cast iron castings: 20T single piece. Specializes in ductile iron castings. Produces steel and manganese steel castings up to 4T single piece, and 300Kg non-ferrous single piece castings.
Our machine shop can handle single loads of up to 25 tonnes for machining.
